WHO WE ARE

Valley Gardens Forum is a substantial group of central Brighton residents, community groups, public sector organisations, businesses small & large who share concerns about the current plan for the Old Steine area known as Valley Gardens Phase 3.  We’re a community interest company - a CIC. Our diverse and lively forum is exactly the kind of sounding board that our local councillors should have been engaging with from the earliest stages of revamping our critical infrastructure in the city.

The Forum has engaged widely with councillors of all parties, raised questions and presented deputations to committees and submitted a petition to the Council.  We have made repeated requests for the data that underpins the flimsy business case for the project. Since December 2018 we have continued a dialogue with Coast 2 Capital, the Local Enterprise Partnership funding the project, requesting they make sure the business case is independently scrutinised and that the proper consultations are taking place.

There is no hidden agenda or singular viewpoint. What we all want is the best for our city.
